The Principal Scientist, Formulations role is onsite in Watertown, MA. The base pay range is $230,090–$254,310 annually. The position supports C4 Therapeutics’ clinical-stage oncology programs and its work developing medicines using targeted protein degradation science. The scientist leads formulation design, early-phase development, scale-up, and technology transfer for oral small-molecule drug products. The role provides technical leadership across internal teams and external manufacturing partners to advance clinical candidates through GMP manufacturing and support product and regulatory readiness.

What you'll do

• Lead formulation development and optimization
• oversee scale-up and technology transfer with contract manufacturing partners
• evaluate external scientists and suppliers
• review batch records, production documents, change controls, deviations, and analytical data
• contribute technical documents and regulatory filing sections
• coordinate with Discovery, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Tech Ops, and project management.

Why this role

Requires a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Formulation Sciences, or a related discipline and at least eight years of post-graduate experience, including industry experience. Experience with small-molecule formulation, GMP, quality-by-design, and CDMO management is required.
