The HVAC Controls / Building Automation Systems Technician role is onsite in Salt Lake City, UT, supporting service work throughout the Wasatch. Compensation is $30–$45+ per hour based on experience and certifications. The position supports Kelso Building Services’ Building Automation Systems service business and its commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, retail, and mission-critical facility customers. The role services, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and optimizes building automation systems and integrated smart-building technologies. It contributes to reliable facility performance through field service, remote diagnostics, customer support, system documentation, and mentoring junior technicians.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot and repair BAS control systems and field devices
• diagnose HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and controls issues
• perform preventive maintenance and inspections
• support controller replacements, upgrades, migrations, and expansions
• validate sequences and optimize performance
• assist with commissioning and testing
• maintain documentation and backups
• configure alarms, trends, dashboards, and analytics
• support integrations and energy optimization
• serve as technical contact for assigned accounts
• mentor junior technicians and apprentices.

Why this role

Three or more years of BAS service experience required. Preferred experience includes Niagara N4 and other listed BAS platforms, networking, remote access, and OT cybersecurity. Overtime opportunities are available.
