Emergency Department Physician

Job overview

The Emergency Department Physician role is onsite in Machias, ME, with compensation of $250–$280 per hour. The physician practices emergency medicine at Down East Community Hospital and provides treatment to patients in the emergency department.

What you'll do

• Practice emergency medicine ethically and in accordance with hospital vision and rules
• maintain a valid medical license and federal narcotics license
• provide emergency-department care to patients regardless of age, gender, race, or religion
• maintain emergency medicine knowledge and current BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications
• comply with EMTALA and other regulations
• document, code, and support reimbursement
• participate in medical-staff affairs
• extend a scheduled shift when necessary to meet patient demands.
