Permanent Substitute Educator, Marin Headlands

The Permanent Substitute Educator role is onsite in Sausalito, CA, with pay of $20.54 per hour. Substitutes work as needed and are asked to commit to teaching for a few weeks a year. NatureBridge provides overnight environmental science education experiences in National Parks and works to connect young people with the natural world. The educator leads outdoor, student-centered science and team-building programs, adapts instruction to school groups, and supports student well-being and learning. The role also contributes to program evaluation, campus stewardship, and organizational operations.

What you'll do

• Lead multi-day experiential environmental science programs
• facilitate inclusive, culturally relevant instruction
• engage students in hands-on scientific investigations
• follow risk-management procedures and support student physical and emotional well-being
• administer and document first aid as appropriate
• lead or assist with evening programs
• assess and document student learning
• participate in meetings, training, and debriefs
• maintain gear and support campus stewardship and operations.
