Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is an onsite, full-time, 12-month hourly role in Independence, KS, paying $18–$21 per hour. The technician performs building, grounds, custodial, and maintenance work to keep campus facilities safe and operational. Work includes responding to maintenance needs, completing work orders and priorities, and carrying out preventive maintenance and improvement activities.

What you'll do

• Perform assigned building and grounds maintenance
• assist with interior and exterior improvement projects and campus activity setup
• identify maintenance needs, process work orders, establish usage schedules, and complete work priorities
• initiate preventive maintenance
• develop maintenance schedules
• train and mentor part-time and student staff as needed
• collaborate with college staff, contractors, and repair services.
