Obstetrical (OB) Technician

What you'll do

• After documented instruction and competency evaluation, set up and scrub for specified obstetrical procedures
• practice aseptic technique and infection-control standards
• prepare C-section rooms for emergencies
• rinse, count, and soak instruments
• maintain a clean and functional work environment
• restock operating rooms and LDRs
• check and stock epidural carts and anesthesia machines
• report malfunctioning equipment
• set up and maintain oxygen therapy equipment
• maintain assigned inventory
• assist with treatments and procedures
• collect, record, and report patient data
• assist patients and families with activities of daily living
• participate in unit meetings, in-services, and education as required.
