Substance Use Disorder Counselor

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor role is onsite in Carbondale, PA, in a clinical setting. Compensation is not specified. The counselor supports Beyond Addiction’s clinical services for people with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. The counselor provides person-centered counseling and case management, using assessment and evidence-based approaches to support clients’ recovery goals. Collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and continuity planning help clients progress through treatment and transition to appropriate aftercare.

What you'll do

• Conduct intake assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations
• develop individualized treatment plans
• facilitate individual, group, and family therapy
• maintain clinical documentation
• provide case management and advocacy
• participate in treatment team meetings, supervision, and case reviews
• use motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, and other evidence-based approaches
• monitor progress and adjust plans
• provide crisis intervention as needed
• maintain HIPAA and confidentiality compliance
• assist with discharge planning and quality improvement.

Why this role
