What you'll do

• Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, CAD and CAM files, and G- and M-code
• set up, program, operate, monitor, and disassemble manual and CNC machines
• adjust setups, tools, coordinates, and programs
• align and secure cutting tools and workpieces
• build machining fixtures
• set and monitor machine feed and speed
• turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind parts to specifications
• use gauges and measuring instruments
• inspect completed parts for defects
• finish surfaces to specifications
• present finished workpieces and make modifications if needed.
