Electronics Technician I, Security and Electronic Systems

Job overview

Compensation is $26–$40 per hour. The Electronics Technician I, Security and Electronic Systems role is onsite in Bethesda, MD, with work sites along the track alignment from Bethesda to New Carrollton, MD. The technician supports M.C. Dean’s Security and Electronic Systems business unit, which installs and maintains electronic security systems for federal, local, and commercial customers. The technician installs, tests, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots electronic security and network equipment in the field. The role contributes to reliable system operation and project quality while following safety plans, installation standards, and documentation requirements.

What you'll do

• Install raceway, cabling, racks, enclosures, panels, and mounting hardware
• terminate, test, and configure electronic devices and network equipment
• perform site surveys, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
• interpret drawings
• track and inspect tools
• participate in safety and project meetings
• document daily work
• maintain installation and testing quality
• mentor and train junior team members.

Why this role

Current Roadway/Railway Worker certification is mandatory; prior installation experience with IP CCTV, access control, and related security systems is required. Work may involve heights up to 60 feet and lifting up to 50 pounds.
