Luna Innovations develops fiber-optic test and measurement products and distributed sensing solutions for aerospace, defense, research, and commercial customers. The engineer owns testing from integration through release, verifying that software, instrument firmware, and hardware work together. The role builds automated regression coverage, validates performance and releases, and works with developers and customer support to investigate and resolve issues.

What you'll do

• Test interfaces between applications, instrument firmware, and hardware drivers
• write test plans and cases
• set up test stations and verify measurements
• perform smoke, bug-fix, regression, performance, and release testing
• maintain automated regression and UI tests
• document results and provide go/no-go recommendations
• use AI tools to support test work
• triage defects and help isolate root causes
• manage build machines, test environments, instruments, and test data.
