Construction Laborer / Field Installer — Fireplace Installation

The Construction Laborer / Field Installer role is onsite in Grand Rapids, MI, with compensation not specified. Williams Distributing’s Hearth team installs manufactured fireplaces and venting systems in newly constructed homes, with paid hands-on training and no prior installation experience required. The role helps complete safe, quality fireplace installations and service by learning installation procedures, using tools and equipment, and working with an experienced team at local construction sites. Cross-training in additional Hearth products and installation services may also be available.

What you'll do

• Learn to install manufactured fireplaces, venting systems, and related products in new construction homes
• learn to service and troubleshoot fireplaces through hands-on training
• use hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and harnesses safely
• access elevated work areas as required
• learn to follow installation manuals, building codes, and manufacturer specifications
• drive a company vehicle between local job sites
• use a smartphone or tablet for scheduling and job information
• communicate with builders, customers, and team members
• follow safety standards and established procedures.
