Security Assurance Engineer

Job overview

The Security Assurance Engineer role is hybrid in Boston, MA, with compensation of $92 per hour. The contract is described as 6–12 months with possible extension, supporting a Massachusetts-based public-sector organization’s application modernization initiatives. The engineer provides project-focused security assurance from design through deployment, helping teams identify and manage risks, test and remediate vulnerabilities, and document controls and release readiness. The work also includes assessing security risks in AI-enabled solutions and coordinating with project, engineering, vendor, and security stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Define security requirements and acceptance criteria
• review application architecture and data flows
• perform project-specific risk analysis
• coordinate SAST, DAST, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning
• triage findings and track remediation
• verify fixes through retesting and evidence review
• prepare security and release-readiness documentation
• assess AI-enabled solutions for risks including prompt injection and data leakage.

Why this role

Hybrid schedule: at least three onsite days weekly for the first 90 days, then generally 2–3 days onsite; standard hours are 8:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday, with possible after-hours and weekend deployment work.
