What you'll do
- Collect blood samples using venipuncture and other techniques
- assess vein structure and select appropriate needle size and equipment
- assist patients with lab prescriptions and explain tests
- assist physicians and lab staff with procedures
- perform EKGs and intramuscular and subcutaneous injections
- monitor lab results as needed
- schedule follow-up lab appointments
- enter and access patient information in the EMR
- inventory and manage supplies
- follow HIPAA guidelines.
