Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist role is onsite in Downtown Houston, TX; compensation is $30–$32 per hour. The position supports a growing real estate organization across multiple entities. The specialist manages full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable work, maintains accurate records, and supports accounting, operations, and property management teams. The role helps ensure timely processing, reconciliations, reporting, and efficient financial operations.

What you'll do

• Process accounts payable for 12 entities, code and enter invoices, route approvals, run weekly checks and vendor payments, reconcile vendor accounts, maintain vendor files, allocate expenses, track job costs, process lien releases and partner distributions, and prepare annual 1099 reporting.
• Post rents and late fees, apply tenant payments, maintain receivables and subledgers, monitor past-due balances, resolve discrepancies, respond to tenant inquiries, maintain accounting records, support projects, and collaborate with accounting, operations, and property management teams.

Why this role
