What you'll do

• Prioritize sample collection requests based on urgency
• collect patient information
• determine the appropriate venipuncture method
• reassure patients during collection
• use sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment to draw blood
• label samples correctly and send them for testing
• do not send needles back with blood draws.
