Job overview

The Controller role may be onsite in Buffalo, NY or Tampa, FL, or fully remote with limited travel; Eastern time zone is preferred. Compensation is $120,000–$150,000 per year. The controller leads financial operations and reporting for Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady LLP, a law firm focused on client service, technology, and alternative service models.

What you'll do

• Direct accounting operations, including general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and trust accounting
• prepare financial statements and leadership reporting
• lead budgeting and forecasting
• manage cash flow, banking, collections, and trust account compliance
• coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting
• lead the accounting team
• support partner compensation analysis
• and oversee financial systems and process improvements.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, law firm experience, and hands-on Aderant experience. CPA preferred; SQL and SSRS reporting are preferred but not required for the right candidate.
