Ophthalmic Technician

The Ophthalmic Technician role is onsite in Plant City, FL; compensation is not specified. The technician gathers patient histories and performs ocular measurements, examinations, and diagnostic testing to support physician-supervised care. The role also helps patients understand post-operative care, medications, contact lens use, and exam expectations, and assists with fittings and in-office procedures.

What you'll do

• Collect and document patient histories and diagnostic results
• perform visual acuity testing, refractions, tonometry, pupil and muscle testing, visual fields, pachymetry, dry-eye testing, and advanced diagnostic imaging
• educate patients on post-operative care, medications, contact lens use, and exam expectations
• assist with contact lens fittings and procedures
• maintain exam-room cleanliness and sanitation
• provide clinical support under physician supervision.

Why this role

Travel between clinic locations and/or overtime may be required based on operational needs. Certification is preferred but not required; at least one year in ophthalmology is required.
