Direct Support Job Coach

The Direct Support Job Coach role is onsite in Monroe, MI, with pay of $16.08 per hour. The role supports Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Michigan’s workforce development services by helping people obtain and maintain community employment. The job coach provides one-on-one workplace training and support, develops job and life skills, and coordinates with employers, families, and support agencies. Documentation and regular progress updates help the Workforce Development team track each person’s employment goals and support needs.

What you'll do

• Assist with job task analysis
• provide one-on-one support for interpersonal skills, production, work quality, and life skills
• help people learn job skills and obtain and maintain community employment
• document activities and submit reports
• meet individually with participants
• report progress weekly to the Workforce Manager
• support worksite tours and community activities
• liaise with employers, families, and agencies
• maintain safety and complete incident reports
• attend to care needs according to guidelines.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED, a driver’s license and acceptable driving record, and First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 30 days. English/Spanish bilingual ability and disability-services experience are helpful.
