Staff Psychiatrist - Adult Inpatient

The psychiatrist is an active member of the Brattleboro Retreat Medical Staff and provides care across assigned programs. The role evaluates and treats assigned patients, coordinates interdisciplinary care, and maintains clinical documentation and regulatory compliance to support appropriate patient treatment and continuity of care.

What you'll do

• Evaluate and care for assigned patients
• provide treatment according to unit guidelines and Medical Staff standards
• see assigned patients on an appropriate daily basis
• order clinically essential tests, procedures, and consultations
• complete discharge summaries
• maintain clinical records and required documentation
• lead interdisciplinary treatment teams
• provide education and follow-up with referral sources and aftercare providers
• participate in professional education
• provide physician backup
• participate in 24-hour on-call patient coverage and follow EMTALA requirements.
