Night Shift Nurse – Substance Abuse Treatment

The Night Shift Nurse role is onsite at The Prairie Recovery Center in Round Top, TX, with shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Pay is $26–$38 per hour. The center is a 25-bed residential substance abuse treatment facility that also serves people with co-occurring mental health issues. The nurse supports residents throughout treatment, from admission through discharge, and communicates observations to the treatment team. The role combines nursing assessments and medication administration with safety rounds, therapeutic activities, documentation, and coordination with medical staff.

What you'll do

• Maintain a safe, orderly, therapeutic environment
• assist residents with activities of daily living
• conduct detox intake, assessment, and supervision
• complete environmental safety rounds and document observations
• facilitate therapeutic activities and groups
• implement crisis-management skills as directed
• complete admission histories and physicals and nursing care plans
• maintain client documentation and medication logs
• assess and triage medical and mental-health emergencies
• administer prescribed medication and carry out physician and psychiatrist orders
• communicate with medical staff and program leadership.
