Assistant Daycare Teacher

The Assistant Daycare Teacher role is onsite in Champaign, IL. Compensation is $16–$17 per hour, depending on experience. Little Legends Learning Center provides a safe, nurturing environment and play-based learning tailored to children’s ages and needs. The assistant supports lead teachers working with two-year-olds by preparing activities, helping children follow classroom routines, and assisting with daily care. This work contributes to children’s learning, development, and well-being while supporting families.

What you'll do

• Assist the lead teacher with age-appropriate curriculum and activities
• prepare lesson materials
• help children stay on task and follow the classroom schedule
• assist with hand washing, dressing, potty training, and diaper changing
• prepare snacks and lunches while following dietary restrictions
• clean the room and sanitize toys and commonly touched surfaces
• maintain daily records and communicate with parents about the day.

Why this role

Monday–Friday schedule, with full-time hours of either 8:15 a.m.–5:15 p.m. or 8:45 a.m.–5:45 p.m. Requires 1+ years of child development experience, three written references, and a high school diploma or equivalent; CPR/first aid certification may be obtained after hire.
