Mitigation Technician

Job overview

The Mitigation Technician role is onsite in Austin, TX, with pay of $20–$25 per hour. The position performs property restoration work under the direction of the Mitigation Manager, including water mitigation, fire and smoke cleanup, and mold remediation. The technician helps stabilize and restore damaged properties by assessing damage, operating drying equipment, removing debris and damaged materials, cleaning and sanitizing sites, and documenting progress. The role also supports safe, coordinated project delivery through customer communication, equipment care, and collaboration with project teams.

What you'll do

• Perform water mitigation, fire and smoke cleanup, mold remediation, and demolition according to company procedures and IICRC standards
• assess damaged areas and identify salvageable materials
• set up, monitor, and remove drying equipment
• perform extraction, debris removal, demolition, cleaning, sanitizing, and contents handling
• document progress with photos, moisture readings, sketches, and job notes
• communicate with customers
• follow safety procedures and use PPE
• operate company vehicles and restoration equipment
• maintain tools and equipment
• assist with containment and site protection
• transport equipment and materials
• support warehouse organization and training.
