The Teacher Aide — Head Start role is onsite in Palmyra, MO. Compensation starts at $15 per hour. Douglass Community Services’ Head Start team supports children’s physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development in a safe and nurturing classroom. The aide works alongside co-teachers to prepare learning activities, support children’s development, and maintain a healthy classroom environment. The role also builds relationships with families, communicates with staff and service providers, and participates in professional development.

What you'll do

• Help maintain a safe, healthy, nurturing learning environment
• assist co-teachers with lesson planning, classroom strategies, documentation, and activities
• support children’s physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development
• prepare classroom materials
• communicate with staff, supervisors, parents, and service providers
• maintain confidentiality
• participate in professional development
• report suspected child abuse or neglect as required.

Why this role
