What you'll do

• Monitor inventory and identify purchasing needs
• source and evaluate vendors
• negotiate pricing, contracts, payment and delivery terms
• manage supplier relationships and the Assistant Purchasing Agent
• prepare purchase orders, bids, and documentation
• forecast purchasing requirements
• identify cost savings
• coordinate product receipt with warehouse personnel
• communicate supply and pricing issues
• analyze purchasing performance
• improve procedures
• manage excess stock and waste
• assist with customer calls and counter sales as needed
• attend trade shows when required
• and travel to branches for inventory approximately twice per year or less.

Why this role

Requires at least five years of purchasing or procurement experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Electrical industry experience and product-importing experience are preferred. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM.
