The Quality Assurance Manager role is 100% onsite in DeKalb, IL, on first shift. Salary is $85,000–$115,000 annually. Sterling Engineering is partnering with an established manufacturer; the manager will lead plant quality operations and continuous improvement initiatives. The manager oversees the Quality Management System, quality engineering, inspection, regulatory compliance, and supplier quality while developing a team of Quality Engineers and Technicians. The role supports product conformity, audit readiness, and ongoing reduction of defects and process variation.

What you'll do

• Lead and improve the plant Quality Management System to ISO 9001 requirements
• manage internal, customer, and third-party audits and corrective actions
• maintain procedures and controlled records
• ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and industry requirements
• lead quality initiatives using statistical methods
• monitor quality KPIs
• lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions
• support Lean and Six Sigma projects
• oversee inspection, metrology, and calibration
• coach and develop quality staff
• partner with Engineering, Operations, and Purchasing on supplier quality and new products
• investigate complaints and returns
• support quality planning and design reviews.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree, five or more years of progressive manufacturing quality experience, Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent improvement experience, and two or more years leading or supervising quality professionals. ISO 9001 knowledge and statistical quality methods are required.
