The Outside Marine Machinist role is onsite at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA, with compensation of $30–$35 per hour. Global 1st Flagship provides marine support services and emergency management and has supported the U.S. Navy since 1964. Employment is contingent on the company securing the associated government contract. The machinist maintains, repairs, and installs shipboard mechanical systems and equipment. The work supports shipyard operations through repair and alignment of machinery, installation and testing, and adherence to technical documents and safety requirements.

What you'll do

• Disassemble, repair, and align pumps, motors, and valves
• install and test propulsion and auxiliary machinery
• use precision tools for measurements and alignments
• follow shipyard safety requirements and technical work documents.
