The Cook works onsite in Lexington, KY, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pay is $12–$16 per hour, based on experience. The role supports children’s meals at an early education center and contributes to Otter Learning’s mission of helping children succeed beyond the classroom. The cook plans and prepares meals and snacks that fuel children’s learning, play, and growth. The role also maintains kitchen sanitation and food storage practices, while potentially assisting in a classroom or front office during staffing shortages or to maintain full-time hours at smaller schools.

What you'll do

• Plan, order, prepare, and clean up breakfast, lunch, and snacks for classrooms
• plan age-appropriate meals that follow regulatory guidelines
• maintain clean and orderly kitchen, equipment, and storage areas
• account for common allergies and substitutes
• work around and serve children and possibly assist with supervision
• may assist in a classroom or front office during staff shortages, cover breaks, or maintain full-time hours in smaller schools.
