The Leasing and Compliance Assistant is an onsite, full-time role in New York, NY, with a Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule and a 35-hour workweek. Pay is $23–$25 per hour. West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing provides affordable housing with supportive services to older adults, people with serious mental illnesses, homeless individuals, and families. The assistant supports the Leasing and Compliance Department by responding to housing inquiries, managing applicant information and waiting lists, and completing leasing and subsidy paperwork. Accurate, timely work helps maintain occupancy while following housing program requirements and fair housing law.

What you'll do

  • Track and respond to housing inquiries
  • create mail merges and track applicant responses
  • schedule interviews
  • participate in eligibility interviews occasionally
  • communicate outcomes to applicants
  • take meeting minutes
  • manage waiting lists under HUD tenant selection plans and Fair Housing Law
  • update referrals in CAPS when applicable
  • enter information into property management databases
  • finalize initial leasing and subsidy paperwork
  • support affordable housing lease-ups
  • maintain confidentiality
  • attend training and meetings.

Why this role

Requires Spanish bilingual ability, a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of NYC affordable housing experience, at least one year of administrative experience, and at least one year working with older adults and people with mental illness and/or substance use. Onsite at Central Office five days a week; travel to other sites as needed.
