Auto Body Technician

The Auto Body Technician role is an onsite position located in Commerce Township, MI, with compensation ranging from $24.00 to $29.00 per hour. This role supports the collision and glass services department at Gerber Collision & Glass, contributing to the company's mission of providing elite infrastructure and customer excellence. The primary purpose of this role is to perform meticulous assessment and quality repair of customer vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition. The technician is responsible for disassembling, repairing, and reassembling vehicles while maintaining high standards of speed and quality in alignment with facility KPIs.

What you'll do

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW plan
• plan repair work and prepare cost estimates
• use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, and hydraulic jacks
• hammer out dents and apply filler resins
• realign chassis and frames
• remove and replace damaged sections and parts
• weld and attach parts
• prepare and repaint vehicles
• inspect vehicles after repair.
