Engineering Technician III

Job overview

The Engineering Technician III role is onsite in Berkeley, CA, with compensation of $35–$55 per hour. The position reports to the Director of Hardware Engineering and supports Bellwether Coffee’s Engineering team, which develops commercial coffee roasting technology. The technician provides hands-on assembly, integration, testing, and troubleshooting support across production and research and development. Accurate build records, quality checks, and prototype assistance help engineering and operations teams deliver reliable equipment.

What you'll do

• Assemble mechanical subassemblies and finished units from drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions
• route and inspect wiring
• integrate electrical components into mechanical structures
• perform functional checks and basic verification tests
• diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• support production assembly, rework, and testing
• assist with prototype fabrication and testing
• document results and flag non-conformances.
