Aquatics Assistant

The Aquatics Assistant role is onsite in Oakland, CA. Compensation is $17–$18.50 per hour. The City of Piedmont is opening a new all-electric community pool with competition and activity pools and a bathhouse.

What you'll do

• Assist swim instructors and participants during lessons
• set up and clean equipment
• help conduct skills checks
• assist aquatic staff with communication and errands
• install and remove lane lines and pool covers
• prepare party spaces and supplies
• organize and escort campers
• help check in patrons and with concession sales
• perform administrative and cleaning tasks
• monitor pool deck and water conditions
• report safety or maintenance concerns
• complete incident reports
• assist with aquatic events and emergency action plans.

Why this role

Applicants must be at least 14 and in at least ninth grade; a work permit is required if under 18. First Aid/CPR with AED is required, and Basic Water Rescue must be obtained within three months of hire.
