Senior Software Engineer — Federated GraphQL Platform

The Senior Software Engineer — Federated GraphQL Platform role is hybrid in Sunnyvale, CA. Pay is $55–$60 per hour. The engineer will work on a federated GraphQL data layer that powers large-scale, consumer-facing web experiences. The role exists to guide the router strategy and own core services in the platform, improving performance, correctness, reliability, and operability. It also helps partner teams build and maintain subgraphs and advances the platform roadmap through measurable improvements.

What you'll do

• Evaluate, extend, or build the federation router
• assess router options and prototype and benchmark alternatives
• define performance, resilience, schema-composition, and rollout standards
• own team subgraphs, including Site Config and related domain services, end to end
• maintain schemas, resolvers, performance, reliability, tests, and service-level objectives
• support partner teams with schema reviews, patterns, tooling, and cross-service debugging
• develop paved paths, templates, documentation, and guardrails
• contribute to the multi-quarter platform roadmap
• participate in on-call for owned services.
