Veterinary Assistant - Inpatient Nursing. This is a part-time, onsite position in Middletown, CT, with a pay range of $19.50 - $22.00 per hour. Pieper Veterinary is a VECCS Level I Facility. This role exists to provide essential support in inpatient nursing care, assisting veterinary technicians and staff in a clinical setting within a collaborative environment.

What you'll do

• Assist with basic nursing care, husbandry, handling/restraint
• Assist Veterinary Technicians and other staff members
• Cleaning and restocking supplies.

What we're looking for

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Prior experience working in a veterinary setting preferred. Tech students are encouraged to apply. Experience in handling animals and performing basic animal care tasks. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task and remain organized. Compassion and patience. Basic knowledge of animal behavior and medical terminology. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to work collaboratively. Willingness to take direction. Strong attention to detail. Punctuality and reliability. Positive attitude, professionalism. Willingness to continue learning. Must be 18 years or older.
