The Brown & Sharpe Automatic Screw Machine Setup Technician role is onsite in Wood Dale, IL. Compensation is $20–$30 per hour. Murphy Machine Products manufactures precision machined components. The technician sets up, adjusts, and maintains Brown & Sharpe automatic screw machines to support production quality and efficiency. The work includes tooling changes, dimensional checks, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance in coordination with production and quality teams.

What you'll do

• Set up and adjust Brown & Sharpe automatic screw machines for production runs
• install and change cutting tools, drills, and collets
• read and interpret basic blueprints, work instructions, and setup sheets
• adjust machines to maintain dimensions and tolerances
• inspect finished parts with micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
• troubleshoot basic machine and tooling issues
• monitor machine performance
• perform routine maintenance
• maintain a clean, organized work area
• follow safety procedures and quality standards
• work with production supervisors, operators, and quality technicians.

Why this role
