Security Operations Center Cyber Analyst

Job overview

The Security Operations Center Cyber Analyst role is onsite five days a week in Port Hueneme, CA; compensation is $85,000–$115,000 per year. The role supports a government client and requires an active Top Secret clearance. The analyst monitors and investigates security events across operational technology, industrial control systems, and enterprise networks. Through threat hunting, incident response, forensic analysis, and reporting, the role helps the SOC identify and respond to cyber threats and improve security operations.

What you'll do

• Support SOC monitoring, incident response, malware analysis, and threat hunting
• develop SIEM analytics and coordinate vulnerability assessments and artifact collection
• assess STIG compliance
• verify connected inventory using asset-mapping tools
• handle IVAM notifications
• evaluate network and device configurations
• analyze traffic and logs for malicious activity
• conduct technical analysis of computer evidence
• research and integrate security tools
• report findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
