Plant Health Grower/Propagator

Job overview

The Plant Health Grower/Propagator role is full-time and onsite in Newport, MN. Pay is $22–$24 per hour. The position is part of Bailey Nurseries’ Plant Health department at Nord Farm and reports to the Lead Grower. The grower manages propagation and early-stage production of woody and perennial ornamental crops, overseeing environmental conditions, irrigation, fertility, and plant health. The role supports consistent, high-quality liners and influences crop timing, shrink, and downstream finishing performance.

What you'll do

• Monitor and adjust misting and irrigation
• maintain rooting and liner quality
• keep crop records
• use Argus and Qcom systems to manage greenhouse conditions and irrigation schedules
• implement fertilizer programs and monitor substrate EC and pH
• scout for pests, disease, weeds, and nutrient deficiencies
• coordinate with the Plant Health team and production crews
• maintain sanitation
• participate in crop planning.

Why this role
