Part-Time Fitness Assistant

The Part-Time Fitness Assistant works onsite at the Fairview Heights Recreation Complex and Fitness Center in Fairview Heights, Illinois. Pay is $15 per hour. The role supports the community recreation complex’s fitness areas under the direction of the Fitness Manager. The assistant helps members use the facility safely by checking them in, providing orientations and short tours, answering fitness-related questions, monitoring activity, and maintaining clean equipment and spaces. The role also supports routine operations, incident reporting, and emergency procedures.

What you'll do

• Check in members
• provide adult and youth orientations and short tours
• answer fitness questions
• monitor participants and exercise circuits
• explain proper equipment use
• clean equipment and perform routine maintenance
• document accidents, incidents, malfunctions, and hazards
• assist with inventory and supplies
• administer first aid and emergency procedures as needed.

Why this role

High school diploma or equivalent required. CPR, First Aid, and AED certification is required or must be obtained within one month of hire. One year of cumulative fitness experience is preferred.
