The Toolmaker fabricates, repairs, and maintains precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures. The work involves interpreting technical information, operating machine tools, and verifying that parts and assemblies meet specifications and quality standards.

What you'll do

• Review blueprints, sketches, models, and written descriptions
• determine materials and machining processes
• provide design input and design simple fixtures and jigs when needed
• plan layouts and assembly methods
• set up and operate lathes, CNC milling machines, and grinders
• verify dimensions and quality
• fit and assemble parts
• develop tool specifications and prepare sketches or drawings as needed.

Why this role
