Senior Software Systems Engineer - Security

Job overview

The Senior Software Systems Engineer - Security role is onsite in Foster City, CA. Base salary is $201,000–$276,000 per year; additional compensation may include Amazon restricted stock units, Zoox stock appreciation rights, and a possible sign-on bonus. The Product Security team applies security standards across Zoox’s system development life cycle as it develops autonomous vehicles. The engineer assesses and quantifies security-related safety risks, verifies risks through simulator scenarios, and develops proposals and risk metrics with partner teams. This work supports risk-informed engineering decisions and alignment between product security, safety, software, and hardware engineering.

What you'll do

• Quantify security-related safety risks and collaborate with safety teams
• verify quantified risks by fuzzing real-world scenarios in simulator environments
• write design proposals and drive execution
• communicate risks to partner teams
• identify opportunities to incorporate risk metrics into company-wide frameworks
• work with Product Security and software and hardware engineering teams.
