Speech Therapist / Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

The Speech Therapist / Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) role is onsite in Southampton, NY. Compensation is $60–$65 per hour. The position organizes and conducts speech and language programs for a facility to support rehabilitation and resident health. The SLP evaluates residents, develops and implements treatment plans, and documents services to improve communication, swallowing, and related functional skills. The role coordinates with the rehabilitation team, adapts activities to residents’ needs, and supports residents and families with compassionate care.

What you'll do

• Evaluate residents and develop treatment goals and methods
• implement speech therapy plans and complete documentation
• apply therapeutic techniques for cognitive skills, communication, oral-motor skills, dysphagia, perception, orientation, psychosocial needs, and functioning
• coordinate adaptive communication devices and instruct residents in their use
• consult with rehabilitation team members
• evaluate resident progress
• attend care and staffing meetings
• train medical, nursing, and other personnel
• supervise supportive personnel
• maintain equipment
• and provide quality service to residents and families.
