The Lead Teacher — Early Childhood role is onsite in Sugar Grove, NC, with compensation of $13–$16 per hour. Sugar Grove Developmental Day School is seeking a teacher to support children’s intellectual, psychological, and physical growth. The lead teacher plans developmentally appropriate learning activities, guides classroom staff, and monitors children’s progress. The role supports a safe, organized classroom and communicates with families to help children learn and reach developmental milestones.

What you'll do

• Maintain children’s attendance records
• ensure staff follow North Carolina rules and regulations
• create weekly lesson plans
• guide teachers on developmentally appropriate interactions
• keep the classroom stocked
• provide daily outdoor opportunities when weather permits
• safely evacuate children in emergencies
• communicate with parents and staff
• supervise assistants and floaters
• provide basic care and evaluate developmental milestones. Requires an associate degree in early childhood education or a related field, or current progress toward a degree, and experience in a licensed early childhood facility.
