Plant People Operations Manager

The Plant People Operations Manager role is onsite in Plattsburgh, NY, with compensation of $115,000–$125,000 per year. The manager serves as the strategic people partner for a high-volume manufacturing facility and reports to the Operational Unit HR Director. The role supports plant workforce, productivity, quality, safety, and retention goals. The manager leads core human resources functions at the facility, including hiring, labor relations, training, payroll, benefits, and workforce planning. By partnering with plant leaders and employees, the role supports compliant operations, employee development, and a high-performing workplace.

What you'll do

• Lead hourly and salaried hiring, onboarding, and orientation
• develop recruiting strategies
• coach leaders and support performance management
• implement training, succession, and talent development programs
• partner with union representatives and Labor Relations on collective bargaining agreement compliance and negotiations
• design engagement and change initiatives
• analyze people data
• ensure compliance with laws and company policies
• complete investigations
• safeguard payroll accuracy
• collaborate with Centers of Excellence and plant leadership.

Why this role

Requires at least five years of HR experience in manufacturing or an industrial setting and hourly recruiting experience. Union experience is strongly preferred. A BS/BA with an HR concentration is preferred.
