Classroom Floater – Early Head Start

The Classroom Floater – Early Head Start position is onsite in Columbia, SC, with pay of $15.65 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role supports Richland County First Steps’ early childhood education and family support program for infants and toddlers. The floater assists teachers with daily care and learning activities, helps maintain a safe and developmentally appropriate environment, and supports family engagement and documentation. The role helps provide a nurturing classroom experience for children from eight weeks to three years old.

What you'll do

• Assist teachers with feeding, diapering, dressing, and playtime
• maintain a safe, clean, developmentally appropriate classroom and outdoor environment
• encourage parental involvement and assist with conferences and home visits
• help implement lesson plans and assess development
• follow program standards and regulations
• complete required documentation.
