Mainframe IMS System Programmer

The Mainframe IMS System Programmer role is hybrid, with three onsite days and two work-from-home days each week. The role supports mission-critical IBM z/OS IMS environments. The programmer maintains and optimizes IMS database and transaction manager subsystems to support system stability, availability, performance, and security. The work includes upgrades, troubleshooting, recovery, integration with other mainframe technologies, and support for modernization and automation initiatives where applicable.

What you'll do

• Install, configure, maintain, and support IMS DB and IMS TM on IBM z/OS
• perform upgrades, maintenance, and patching
• manage system definitions, control regions, parameters, buffer pools, and resources
• monitor and tune performance
• diagnose issues using logs, dumps, and abend analysis
• support utilities, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
• integrate IMS with z/OS, DB2, MQ, CICS, TCP/IP, and Sysplex
• follow change-management processes and maintain documentation
• support modernization, API enablement, and automation initiatives where applicable.
