What you'll do

• Conducts appropriate evaluations, assesses home environment (as appropriate), and identifies equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
• Identifies functional speech defects and establishes a plan of care to improve patient’s function.
• Administers diagnostic speech and language evaluations and some basic, informal audiological assessments in accordance with the plan of care.
• Recommends communication devices/aids as indicated.
• Prepares a report of each client’s diagnostic evaluation and makes recommendations.
• Advises, consults, and teaches appropriate procedures and supportive activities to clients, family members, and other agency staff.
• Provides direct speech service to clients under a provider’s plan of care.
• Records and reports to the provider the client’s response to therapy.
