The engineer leads FPGA gateware architecture and development for space-to-space power-beaming systems. The role contributes to reliable spacecraft and network operation through requirements-driven design, simulation, integration, testing, and firmware standards.

What you'll do

• Lead FPGA gateware architecture for real-time control loops, including beam-control servo logic for pointing, acquisition, and tracking
• allocate system and board requirements to FPGA specifications
• develop module-level diagrams and design concepts
• drive timing closure, pipelining, and clock-domain crossing strategy
• lead VHDL or Verilog development through simulation, integration, and test
• verify performance against system requirements
• integrate FPGA designs with hardware, firmware, and software
• establish firmware processes and version control
• mentor engineers
• support platform selection, qualification, and production testing.
