Research and Development Technologist – Extrusion (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

The Research and Development Technologist – Extrusion role is onsite in Leominster, MA, with a first-shift schedule of 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Compensation is $28–$33 per hour. The role supports Teknor Apex’s custom-compound work and provides processability feedback to materials engineers. The technologist sets up, maintains, and operates extrusion lines to produce prototype parts and identify processing issues. Testing, data reporting, and assay or process troubleshooting help the team evaluate existing and new thermoplastic compounds and improve product development work.

What you'll do

• Set up, maintain, and operate multilayer single-screw extruder lines
• produce prototype parts and provide processability feedback
• identify material defects in extrusion processes and adjust conditions
• test to provided specifications
• assist with SOPs and standard test methods
• enter test data and conditions and assemble simple reports
• troubleshoot lab equipment with vendor assistance. After training, may assist with the 40mm pilot compounding line
• secondary duties may include injection molding or physical testing.
