Land Surveyor I

Job overview

The Land Surveyor I role is onsite in Minot, ND; pay is $26–$35 per hour. The position supports Apex Engineering Group’s civil engineering projects, including highway and urban roadway work. Working with a Survey Crew Chief or Land Surveyor, the surveyor gathers and records field data for construction, topographic, boundary, right-of-way, and control surveys. The work supports project design and construction through accurate survey records, field coordination, and communication with project teams and owners.

What you'll do

• Perform field surveys with a Survey Crew Chief or Land Surveyor
• gather data using conventional and GPS methods
• prepare field notes, drawings, and records of changed conditions
• learn and follow surveying standards
• participate in project planning meetings and provide progress updates
• communicate with contractors, engineering staff, and project owners
• travel and out-of-town stays are required
• construction observation and UAS licensing may be requested.
