What you'll do

• Ensure equipment, instrumentation, and supplies are available for procedures
• anticipate the surgeon’s needs
• pass instruments to the surgeon and assistant
• help set up and turn over operating rooms
• assist with room cleaning and instrument preparation for terminal cleaning and sterilization
• return instruments to trays for transport to SPD
• follow policies including count, universal protocol, and medication-labeling procedures
• work with students and inexperienced staff on instrument handling.
