Construction Special Inspector

Job overview

The Construction Special Inspector role is onsite in Rochester, NY, with pay of $23–$32 per hour. CME Associates provides construction materials evaluation and technical support services, including special inspections and engineering services. The inspector tests materials and checks construction work against established standards and project documents. Accurate field records, clear reporting, and communication with project managers help support compliance on commercial construction projects in the Greater Rochester area.

What you'll do

• Perform tests and inspections of soils, concrete, asphalt, reinforced concrete, masonry, welding and bolting, fireproofing and firestopping, and geotechnical work
• interpret construction drawings, specifications, and test results
• complete assignments according to established standards
• record and report results
• communicate with project managers
• complete daily field records and reports
• prepare for and complete continuing education for ACI and ICC certifications.
